On 29th and 30th November the Macromolecular Crystallography Customized Beamline Environment Meeting was held at the ALBA Synchrotron. Around 70 attendants from different synchrotrons and other international facilities participated in the meeting to talk about progress of the different collaborating institutions and future developments of this software.

Cerdanyola del Vallès, 4th December 2023  The MXCuBE (Macromolecular Crystallography Customized Beamline Environment) project started in 2005 at the ESRF, with the objective of providing crystallography beamlines users an easy-to-use software platform to run their experiments. In 2010, a collaboration agreement was signed for the development of MXCuBE between the major synchrotron facilities in Europe. Today MXCuBE is actively supported by the following partners: ESRF, Soleil, MAX IV, HZB, EMBL, Global Phasing Ltd, DESY and ALBA.

Every 6 months, the MXCuBE community meets to share new progress on the software and discuss on future developments. The ALBA Synchrotron already held past meetings on 2015 and 2020 (virtually), and this 2023 participants had the opportunity to come back to ALBA.

In this occasion, around 70 people attended the meeting on 29th and 30th November (physically or virtually as the event was also streamed), coming from the Australian Synchrotron, the National Synchrotron Radiation Research Center in Taiwan, ESRF, EMBL, Soleil, MAX IV, DESY, BESSY-HZB, Elettra, Sirius, Global Phasing, Arinax and Diamond, among many others.

During this two days, different topics were covered such us the MXCuBE Status Report or sessions for the steering and developers committee. The agenda also focused on the ISPyB (Information System for Protein Crystallography Beamlines) status, a LIMS dedicated to protein crystallography experiments on synchrotron beamlines.
